MACKEEPER MALWARE SOFTWARE
The MacKeeper software did what it says it did, was even on the MacAppStore under a different name, but got low scores.Ī top Apple tech I know who installed it, examined the code of MacKeeper found nothing wrong, it's just the first issues of the program by the original owner was poor and it wouldn't uninstall or had a uninstaller, thus setting their fate forever in the Mac community as crapware. I've even clicked link from porn sites to the developers real site. MacKeeper has been marked as malware due to unscrupulous business tactics of the original owners who advertised anywhere and everywhere to draw in as many Mac victims as they could. I've contacted mackeeper about this already yet all they say is they're "not a virus" and keep referring me to links to download malware removal programs. Just because your getting advertisements for MacKeeper doesn't mean you have MacKeeper version of the malware. Spotlight only works on certain categories of files, usually only in the user account.
I search mackeeper on my spotlight at the top right (I have a macbook air) and not a single file comes up so there's nothing I can uninstall. Still adware infects other locations so it returns. That won't work as your only uninstalling the program, not the program support files. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling my web browsers That's only for web browsers and doesn't work when your machine is infected with adware.

I do have adblock plus on safari and chrome yet it doesn't help at all. I've never had so many ads and popups before and I don't know what to do. Not only is Mackeeper effecting me with all these ads but I'm also getting countless ads from other random companies all the time. This window always pops up out of nowhere and I don't know what to do. Every 5 seconds when I click on something I get a mackeeper popup.
